Concrete Carpenters

Frontier Bridge, a local bridge company- is seeking Concrete Carpenters to perform a wide range of duties that may change depending on the type of project they are working on and the team members they are working with.

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Responsibilities:

• Perform day to day duties of a bridge crew
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in preparing surfaces for concrete such as: setting and tying rebar
• Assist in pouring concrete and direct / guide trucks to pour concrete / material
• Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
• May operate a variety of hand and power tools
• Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Driving Record - (5 points or less) required to be on Drive List; otherwise, will be on No Drive List
• Prefer some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions
• Able to pass background check, drug screen and physical
• Education - High school diploma or GED and equivalent experience
• Prefer some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies
• Teamwork orientation - balances team and individual responsibilities. Puts success of team above own
• Gives and welcomes feedback
• Contributes to building a positive team spirit

Physical Demands:

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
• The position requires walking and standing for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects, up to 50 pounds; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The employee is required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk, and requires repetitive movement.
• The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to speak and hear.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job could include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Expected Hours of Work & Working Environment:

• This is a full-time position. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work. Must report to jobsite by required time per Foreman
• Travel within state of Oklahoma
• Some night and weekend work could be required
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to all outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions, very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) temperatures
