The main responsibilities of the Sanitation Supervisor are to supervise and coordinate all sanitation processes involved in the manufacturing of our products to consistently meet Silver Spring and customer requirements. Responsible for supporting activities to ensure food safety, integrity, legality, quality, and authenticity.

Education/Work Experience:

Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency, 1 to 3 years of sanitation experience, along with supervisory experience.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, food science, chemistry or biology. Three to five years of mechanical sanitation or related work experience in a food processing environment, in a supervisory role.

Daily Operation Support: Proper shift transitions & strong lines of communication between the different teams keep operations moving smoothly. You review all job orders and quickly determine priorities, staffing needs, and material requirements to ensure the team is meeting daily production goals. A stickler for detail, you ensure that safety, quality and maintenance procedures are followed and documented accurately, thoroughly and efficiently. 

People Management: Promoting teamwork and building strong teams is second nature to you. You walk the manufacturing lines regularly and you know your different team members because you understand how important it is to see what’s happening on the floor and have a strong relationship with your colleagues to optimize production. Your close connections help the team achieve their goals. You’re a coach, a manager, and a hands-on supervisor providing feedback, instruction, encouragement and kudos, modeling great leadership and inspiring positive behavior and 56comradery. 

Sanitation: Meticulously follows all sanitation procedures knowing the importance of cleanliness in a food manufacturing environment. Always ready to help out.

Continuous Improvement: Your team keeps improving and optimizing even in the face of every changing conditions because they are suggesting and implementing material improvements to our operations. As the needs of the business change, you help ensure the team has the appropriate metrics in place and apply them to the daily work. You integrate training opportunities into daily activities, and support autonomous maintenance, team member development, and cross training initiatives.
