Silicon Valley International School is Hiring a Monitor Near Menlo, CA

Silicon Valley International School is seeking to immediately fill the role of Campus Security Monitor for our Willows Campus, which supports our Preschool / Pre-K, Middle, and High Schools.

The ideal candidate is service-oriented, has strong situational awareness, and is respectful and adaptable. Campus Service Monitors (CSMs) respond to calls and provide information to individuals seeking inquiries;

patrol assigned areas by foot; enforce school, state, and local policies and regulations; and report hazards to the Site Facilities Manager (SFM).

Under the general direction of the Upper and Preschool Principals or assigned school Administrators, the CSM will conduct various security services for the Willows Campus.

Their job is to ensure the safety of students, staff, faculty, and property. They should be able to maintain order, enforce rules and regulations governing student conduct, and serve as liaisons between site administrators and other faculty or staff assigned to that location.

The essential duties of this role are to patrol the school campus, including adjacent field and parking lot areas, on foot, circulating among school personnel and students to detect and prevent improper conduct, damage to furnishings or facilities, theft, injuries, unsafe situations, and substance abuse;

report persons bullying others to appropriate administrative personnel; and report safety hazards observed at sites while on patrol.

Primary Responsibilities Greet all visitors, students, faculty, and staff members in a welcoming manner. Monitor for vandalism, theft, and trespassing on school property Ensure all high school students, faculty, and staff are visibly displaying their ID cards to enable quick verification and identification and challenge those individuals without ID.

Inform school administration of unauthorized individuals on campus. Informs SFM of incidents and potential hazards or safety issues.

Monitor and report any unusual or strange behavior, events, or individuals not in assigned areas, question strangers in the school’s building or campus, promptly convey information, and provide eyewitness information to SFM or other designated administrative personnel.

Help with monitoring Upper school students as needed Support the Early Years division by ensuring that all students remain in their designated areas Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Experience working in a school setting Ability to follow the site and school policies, procedures, and regulations regarding appropriate student, faculty, and staff behavior on grounds or on campus Knowledge of basic security and safety procedures Interpersonal skills to manage and deal with possible confrontational situations while maintaining a calm, respectful, firm demeanor Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, faculty, and other adults Exercise strict confidentiality of school and student issues Use good judgment in situations affecting campus security Benefits Full-time employees are eligible to participate in the following benefits.

Compensation The position is classified as a non-exempt hourly employee. The salary range for this position is $23.00 to $29.
