POSITION OVERVIEW
Silicon Valley International School’s Assistant Director of Admission is responsible for supporting the Admission Team in the management of the enrollment process in the school’s effort to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse, dynamic, and mission-centric student population in Preschool through Grade 12.
The school seeks an energetic, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, flexible team member who is internationally-minded, has a strong connection to bilingualism and/or bilingual education, and has a background in similar institutions sustaining a diverse, multicultural, bilingual, or multilingual community is preferable. The Assistant Director of Admission reports to the Chief of Enrollment Management.
Candidates must be collaborative team players with outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to develop a culturally-competent admissions approach.
Successful candidates demonstrate emotional intelligence, genuine empathy for prospective families, and an awareness of the needs and sensitivities of parents, students, faculty, staff, and administrators to benefit enrollment and retention strategies. Experience in admission and/or private/independent schools is a benefit.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to the mission and standards of Silicon Valley International School (INTL) by supporting the recruiting and retention of students/families who will benefit from the school’s exceptional bilingual program and contribute to the school community
Represent Silicon Valley International School to the school, local and international prospective families, successfully communicating INTL’s mission, vision, and brand.
Understands the school's and bilingual programs' culture and climate and is sensitive to economic, cultural, and other issues present in the enrollment process.
Manage inquiries (email, phone, Hubspot, Ravenna)
Manage Calendar, events, and step status for applicants on Ravenna (including a weekly update of the dashboard)
Manage Admission Events calendar and registration links via Calendly, Ravenna, and other calendaring platforms as needed
Track event attendance and registration for all admission and retention events
Track and maintain immunization records for students K-12 - submit yearly reports to CDPH
Track transcript requests for students applying out and submit report cards, transcripts, and forms to schools as requested
Support the College Counselor in the production of transcripts for the senior class
Support the planning and implementation, and coordination of schedules and materials/supplies/refreshments for internal and external-facing events (both on and off campus and virtual events), including but not limited to:
open houses,
campus tours,
visiting other local schools,
information sessions,
Independent School fairs,
Student assessment days,
Student visit days,
new family welcome events
Advise prospective families on the requirements and steps of the admission process
Support the implementation of retention events/activities for current students and families l (Grades PK to K and 5 to 6)
Manage and update enrollment status via Blackbaud/internal student information platform
Follow up with families and respond to information requests
Contribute to the management of admission statistics and response to annual surveys, including DASL, BADA, BAAD, and acts in a collegial manner with BADA and BAAD Consortium member schools
Maintains and encourages relationships with feeder schools, counselors,
consultants, and other sources for prospective mission-aligned students.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with area educational
constituencies, organizations, associations, etc., including area schools,
preschools, consultants, admissions directors, and organizations, and create
networking opportunities.
Collect and maintain vaccine/medical records of all students K-12 and report to local state and county officials
Maintain a list of outgoing students and ensure timely submission of INTL school records to schools on behalf of outgoing applicants
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
A bachelor’s degree in a related field
Two to Five years of experience in education, preferably in admissions
Bilingual skills preferred
Experience with online platforms such as Calendly, Blackbaud, Ravenna, and Hubspot a plus
Able to synthesize and present complex enrollment data in a clear and concise manner
Exceptional emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage and prioritize competing demands, projects, and responsibilities simultaneously
The ability to work collaboratively with other community members within a multicultural setting
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires independent travel between multiple school sites
Ability to hear within normal range and communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner that can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population
Tasks will involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or desk
Ability to work on weekends/evenings as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is full-time and exempt; compensation is based on education and years of experience. The salary range for this position for the 2023-24 school year is 60,000.00 to $75,000.00
