The Associate Design Engineer serves as the design support during the post sales project process. The Associate Design Engineer works closely with the Projects team, and other Design Engineers in document creation and review. The Associate Design Engineer works as part of a team to create submittal documentation, and works with field staff to identify product and design issues. The Associate Design Engineer is expected to be an internal support resource looked to by Sr. Design Engineers for support in document and design creation. The Associate Design Engineer is expected to be able work with Sr. Design Engineers to translate and create a design scope. The Associate Design Engineer is assumed to have a degree of independence with the ability to draw upon experience as well as internal and external resources to complete tasks within expected time frames while working closely with Sr. Design Engineers to identify design gaps on more complex tasks. The Associate Design Engineer is expected to be able to support sales if needed but this is not assumed to be a large part of the job function. Site visits may be required but are assumed to be minimal and primarily in a role supporting Sr Design Engineer team, this may include utilizing site review checklist to gather information for project implementation. Responsibilities include: • Create high quality design documentation that can be understood by field and subcontractor staff with guidance • Collaborate with project management and be accountable to implementing the project scope and confirming solution intent with Sr. Design Engineer Support • Keep abreast of and influence technology trends, standards, and stakeholders which will further enhance adoption of our platform • Develop strong relationship with our Project Management teams; be able to identify project challenges and function as a liaison to the Sr. Design Engineer, distilling the issue to a clear and concise question. |
Hands-on or class room experience developing low voltage solutions, and/or integrated technologies.
AutoCad experience preferred
Must be able to see and hear (naturally or with correction); speak clearly; coordinate eye-hand movements and use fingers skillfully; sit for long periods of time.
