Where do you fit in?
The Associate Director is responsible for the health of the assigned Signant Health client project portfolio through the effective execution of the portfolio internal and external governance and consistent, high-quality delivery of all services contracted. They also are responsible for supervisory management of (Senior) Project Managers and (Senior) Project Specialists.
The Associate Director contributes to strategy, developing and implementing company-wide process improvements.
This role requires an effective, charismatic leader that excels in client management, problem-solving, able to motivate a result-oriented team, and is able to build long lasting trust-based relationships with Signant Health’s clients.
As part of our team, your main responsibilities will be:
  • Is the client Expert. Has knowledge and understanding of client contracts, deliverables, business practices and key performance indicators. This includes knowledge of all client agreements (e.g., Service Level Agreement, Governance Agreements, Rate Cards).
  • Responsible for the definition, implementation and governance of the assigned clients' specific standards e.g. data standards, documentation standards, requirement standards.
  • Own client governance including client-specific operational metrics and updates (in lieu of a Client Success Director assigned to the account).
  • Partner with the Commercial Team in defining the strategic plan for the assigned portfolio. In addition, support scoping projects, inclusive of timeline review, capabilities, bid defences and proposals. Contribute product and relationship knowledge to the pre-award process.
  • Accountable for maintaining project scope and financial health of project execution (e.g. utilization, revenue recognition, and invoicing) for assigned portfolio.
  • Proactively addresses risk and issues and can drive resolution. Able to proactively identify and resolve risks within direct reports projects through internal governance process.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas for project delivery to ensure timelines and client expectations are met within budget while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of direct reports through effective people management including hiring, retention, coaching and development of team members.
  • Support the hiring of new staff; ensuring staff are trained and on boarded effectively, assign mentors as required.
  • Responsible for Resource Allocation based upon capacity management within their assigned resources.
  • As a manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and to create a culture of process improvement with a focus on streamlining our processes adding value to our business and meeting client needs.
  • Responsible for compliance with Company Procedures in support of client deliverables.
  • Recognize, exemplify and adherence to the company values which centre around our commitment to People, Clients, and performance.
  • Lead process improvement activities within the Project Management functional area.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence
  • Capable of weighing risks and making decisions that align with Signant values and strategy
  • Manage customer escalations effectively, with follow up and closure
You’ll need to bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, IT or other relevant experience
  • Demonstrable strategic thinking abilities
  • Deep knowledge of project management principles and how to optimize performance in delivery
  • Understanding of and ability to influence profitability/efficiency of Signant services
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Excellent problem and/or dispute resolution skills
  • Experience managing a team using complex data (KPIs, OLAs, etc.) to identify required changes to inform business decisions
  • Experience managing and growing a team of talented professionals including mentoring and coaching abilities
  • Interest and ability in seeing "the big picture" helping define the future of organization
  • Must have excellent written, time management, communications, decision making, human relations and organizational skills
  • Fluency in English (will be required to write, speak and understand English to conduct day-to-day business)
We will be thrilled if you also have:
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience and clinical study experience preferred; technical background valued
  • Should understand the software development life cycle and the specification and configuration of software products
