SIGNAL CENTERS is Hiring a Coaching Support Specialist - West Region Near Chattanooga, TN

This is a new position that will create, provide information and access to resources for Child Care Resources and Referral (CCR&R) Coordinators and Coaches to support coaching practices with educators in assigned service areas. As a Coaching Support Specialist, you will have the opportunity to support the quality assurance system through coaching observation and analysis.
Applicants must live and be able to serve the following counties:
Mid Cumberland Counties -Montgomery, Dickson, Henry, and Stewart and West Counties- Benton, Carroll, Crockett, Dyer, Gibson, Henry, Lake, Obion andWeakley and Shelby County

Under the direction of the Coaching Support Coordinator, the Coaching Support Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Expand knowledge of coaching practices by creating, providing information and access to resources for CCR&R Coordinators and Coaches to support coaching practices with educators in assigned service areas.
  • Support CCR&R Coaches working with educators on the development and progress of EQIPs.
  • Plan and coordinate Community of Practice sessions to support CCR&R Coaches.
  • Provide timely feedback, tools, and strategies to CCR&R Coaches to support them in coaching sessions with educators.
  • Have a working knowledge of Practice-Based Coaching.
  • Ability to apply concepts from the TN CCR&R Coach Model.
  • Support the quality assurance system through coaching observation and analysis.
  • Conduct coaching reviews to provide feedback to release new coaches in the field.
  • Stay abreast of and track research in early childhood coaching initiatives and practices.
  • Assist with statewide training needs related to coaching.
  • Develop and maintain a list of coaching performance standards to be used within the CCR&R as a standard for coaching practices.
  • Be able to collaboratively work with other Coach Support Personnel on team projects and goals.
  • Collaborate with other Coach Support Specialists and Training Development Specialists to conduct quarterly meetings to provide a community of learning for Quality Coaches.
  • Stay current on DHS licensing regulations and guidelines for child care centers.
  • Collaborate with CCR&R Coordinators to identify local needs of coaches working with educators.
  • Conduct ongoing observations of coaches in the field.
  • Author content for CCR&R newsletter/social media/website and agency newsletters.
  • Serve as a facilitator for Train-the-Trainer Institutes.
  • Positively market the CCR&R Network to the community.
  • Attend and participate in local partner meetings.
  • Collaborate with applicable State agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in early childhood education or related field.
  • Three-five years of experience in this or related field required.
  • Experience training and coaching adult learners for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Physical examination and record of negative TB test results must be on file with Signal Centers.
  • Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance required.
  • Willingness to travel statewide, work some nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to work from a remote home environment within the state of TN.

Special skills/aptitudes:

  • The ability to serve as a liaison between Signal Centers, Inc., and the sub-contracted Child Care Resource and Referral agencies.
  • The ability to identify issues related to the function of training and technical assistance or coaching on the CCR&R local site level.
  • The ability to identify research-based quality practices in early care and education and to coordinate training and coaching needs of the CCR&R staff.
  • The ability to, coach, train and/or be responsible for training CCR&R staff and to develop applicable training resources, training events and quality assurance.
