SIGNAL CENTERS is Hiring an Infant and Toddler Assistant Coordinator Near Chattanooga, TN

Responsibilities:


This position will not hold any supervisory responsibilities, no educator caseload, and no training requirements on a regular basis.

Under the direction of the CCR&R Infant Toddler Coordinator, the CCR&R Infant Toddler Assistant Coordinator will have the following responsibilities:

  • Work with Coordinator to meet goals related to performance-based outcome standards for Infant Toddler Coaches.
  • Work with Infant Toddler Coordinator to set yearly goals for the Infant Toddler team and monitor the progress.
  • Assist coaches in staffing and teaming referrals and agency requests.
  • Assists Infant Toddler coordinator to identify, support, and promote quality practices in the areas of infant toddlers for childcare educators.
  • Support and assist new Infant Toddler Coaches through AIMHi ™ endorsement.
  • Train CCR&R staff, center based, family and group childcare educators, DHS staff and other DHS or funder requested groups on topics related to infant toddler development and care.
  • Track and monitor statewide DHS Referrals to ensure that all Infant Toddler related referrals are met in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support to local CCR&R staff.
  • Assist and support Infant Toddler Coaches throughout the Infant Toddler Specialization process including support with LENA implementation.
  • Assist and support Infant Toddler Coaches in the continued development of Infant Toddler Demonstration sites.
  • Provide direct mentoring and coaching to staff.
  • Establish relationships with CCR&R partners.
  • Participate in community collaborative efforts, coalitions, and other relevant meetings as directed by Coordinator.
  • Assist Infant Toddler Coordinator in the development of Infant Toddler materials, activities, and resources for educators and new Infant Toddler Coaches.
  • Create tools and resources for child care agencies.
  • Serve as a substitute coach in the event an Infant Toddler Coach is on extended leave.
  • Assist and support new Infant Toddler Coaches on the training, implementation, and certification of PITC.
  • Assist Infant Toddler Coordinator in planning and scheduling meetings for Infant Toddler Coaches monthly and quarterly.
  • Serve as a direct line of communication when Infant Toddler Coordinator is not available.
  • Review and submit in a timely manner all assigned Train TN reviews.
  • Support and assist Infant Toddler Coordinator with onboarding new staff.
  • Support and assist new Infant Toddler Coaches while working with the Coaching Support Specialist and Training Development Specialist teams.
  • Support all coaches with feedback from coaching and training observations.
  • Participate in CCR&R Network Management meetings, staff and partner meetings and other meetings called by DHS or partners, which may require overnight travel.
  • Serve as facilitator for Train-the-Trainer Institutes and Supplemental Trainings as requested.
  • Author content for CCR&R newsletter/social media/website as requested.
  • Collaborate with applicable State agencies.
  • Achieve and maintain First Aid/CPR instructor certification provided by CCR&R.
  • Achieve and maintain AIMHi ™ endorsement.
  • Positively market the CCR&R Network to the community
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in education, Early Childhood Education, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • Three to five years of management or leadership experience required.
  • Five years of experience in this or related field required.
  • Experience training and coaching adult learners.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Physical examination and record of negative TB test results must be on file with Signal Centers.
  • Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance required.
  • Willingness to travel statewide, work some nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to work from a remote home environment within the state of TN.


Special skills/aptitudes:

  • The ability to serve as a liaison between Signal Centers, Inc., and the subcontracted Child Care Resource and Referral agencies.
  • The ability to maintain and share knowledge and understanding of infant and toddler development consistent with quality practice and apply those within the structure of the Tennessee Child Care Resource & Referral Network agencies.
  • The ability to train adults using adult learning strategies and provide technical assistance in both large and small group settings.
  • Knowledge and certification in all four PITC modules and how they can be implemented in childcare programs.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective communication and negotiating skills with and between individual and diverse groups of people from all socioeconomic backgrounds, including coworkers, child care educators, and community partners.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and the ability to work well independently.
  • Initiate and cultivate an inclusive work environment.
