We are currently seeking a Buyer with Deltek Cost Point experience in Huntsville, AL. Responsibilities include:

• Processes and completes moderately complex purchase orders through the entire purchasing cycle, from PR through delivery.
• Determines prices from available vendors which meet cost and quality guidelines; places orders; verifies receipt of purchases and files proper paperwork.
• Represents Sigmatech in negotiations with suppliers to obtain products at the best quantity and cost in order to ensure end-users needs are met; negotiates delivery, terms and conditions, and pricing.
• Coordinates with accounts payable to resolve any credit holds or complex pricing problems in order to ensure prompt payment and avoid delays to the end user.
• Maintains communication with suppliers/vendors during course of procurement action in order to expedite timely delivery in compliance with the requirements of the procurement document.
• Coordinates the procurement of direct and indirect materials, products/services and equipment necessary for the operation of the business unit or assigned projects.
• Inputs vendor and purchasing data into Deltek Cost Point and helps maintain Approved Supplier List.
• Conducts evaluations and quality checks on vendors to maintain a robust and compliant supplier pool.
• Helps with cost controls and sourcing strategies to meet customer needs and small business goals.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree and five or more years' experience in the procurement industry, preferably Defense.
• Proficiency in Deltek Cost Point is required.
• Must be able to write a valid price analysis and maintain procurement files.
• Experience in a CPSR procurement environment desired
• Experience in maintaining government property records desired.
• General computer and Excel spreadsheet experience required.
• FAR/DFARS knowledge a plus.
