Warehouse Shift Supervisor
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Warehouse Shift Supervisor is responsible for the activities of the Warehouse team members regarding shipments, receipts, storage, inventory accuracy, and maintaining supplies, tools and equipment for the warehouse or yard. The Supply Chain Manager fulfils the responsibilities of this role when vacant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Plans layout of warehouse and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
- Supervises direct reports including training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
- Maintains and audits FIFO to ensure employees are following company policies.
- Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.
- Ensures inventory accuracy by overseeing cycle count completion.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
- Demonstrates empowerment and involvement of Warehouse staff in problem resolution, planning, Lean, and warehouse operations.
- Develops and maintains KPI’s and metrics associated with all warehouse activities (i.e., ordering, receiving, inventorying, shipping materials, etc.).
- Establishes and maintains a strong customer focus internally and externally.
- Maintains positive employee relations through open communication and engagement.
- Assigns duties and examines work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Maintains high standards for safety and housekeeping by following 5S requirements.
- Prepares and presents reports, as necessary.
- Responsible for overseeing food safety.
YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or G.E.D required.
- Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university preferred; or three to five years related management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint).
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively via verbal and written with internal and external customers.
- Ability to motivate and engage staff and deal effectively with performance gaps.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, government regulations, and financial reports.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- The ability to excel in a fast paced, high-energy environment.

- Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Frequently standing, walking and sitting.
- Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach or handle machinery.
