TOTAL Programs is seeking Behavior Specialists

Overview: At TOTAL Programs, we help individuals with Autism or other developmental disabilities and their families build stronger, more positive relationships, whether they are at home, at school or elsewhere in the community. We use Applied Behavior Analysis to create our programs, which are customized to meet each client’s special needs, from infancy to adulthood. Are you interested in gaining a greater understanding of autism and behavioral therapy? Do you love working with children?

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe and healthy community environment for clients and community members.
  • Teach the client adaptive and functional skills according to the goal domain areas focused on community integration.
  • Implement individualized support plans for clients with specialized support.
  • Transport clients in personal automobiles (personal automobiles must meet the insurance qualifications and drivers must meet drivers’ license checks).
  • Complete appropriate documentation of client’s progress.
  • Maintain professional behavior as outlined by company policies.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ABA principles after 6-week introductory period.
  • TB Clearance, Clean Driving Record
  • Implement CPR and First Aid techniques during crisis situations
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, reach, stoop, and regularly lift 30-40 pounds throughout assigned shifts.
  • Able to endure physical activities including, but not limited to walking, recreational sports, etc. In cases of behavior outburst, community specialist needs to be physically capable of using NCPI techniques, including physical control positions
  • Driving requirements 20-30 minutes.
  • Standing for long periods of time.

Job Type: Part-time, Full-Time

Salary: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
