Overview:

The Assistant Director of Board and Cabinet Relations plays a pivotal role in administering program operations and affairs associated with the President's Cabinet, the Board of Trustee, and the Office of the President. Reporting to the Vice President for Strategy, Communications and Outreach and working with all members of the Executive Team in the Office of the President, this position serves as the administrative liaison to the Board of Trustees and manages interactions and communications between the BOT Chair, President, Vice President and Chief of Staff, Board Members, and President's Cabinet. In addition, this position maintains oversight of Student Leadership and Employment in the President's Office and plays a leadership role in engaging Siena's most influential stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Liaison and Collaboration:

  • Act as a key liaison between the BOT Chair, President, Vice President and Chief of Staff, Board Members, and President's Cabinet.
  • Collaborate with all relevant campus departments and external stakeholders and partners to provide direction and insight on administrative functions and relations associated with the Board and President's Cabinet.

Board Relations:

  • Work directly with the Board of Trustees, serving as an administrative liaison and adviser on policies, operations, and practical considerations of the College.
  • Collaborate with the BOT Chair, BOT Committee Chairs, and President's Office staff on administrative operations of the Board of Trustees including committee and quarterly meeting oversight as well as ongoing communication and data maintenance.

President's Cabinet Administrative Operations:

  • Manage the administrative operations of the Cabinet, including short and long-range planning, confidential communications (written and verbal), meeting and event logistics, and data compilation and distribution.

Team and Office Management:

  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and assign tasks to a team of student workers.
  • Set work schedules and ensure the team supports Presidential priorities and the strategic plan.
  • Coordinate office tasks working directly with the Executive Assistant as it pertains to office coverage, supply purchase and inventory and general office inquires.

Student Leadership and Engagement:

  • Guide and mentor the Student Presidential Leadership Council, acting as the lead advisor and assisting in the appointment and direction of student members.
  • Oversee the executive intern position, ensuring optimal functionality and engagement with the Executive Team in diverse tasks related to student engagement and the College's strategic goals.
  • Assess and direct the priorities and tasks of the student executive intern.

Annual salary range: $59,500.00 - $62,475.00

  • The hiring salary above represent the College's good faith estimate at the time of posting in compliance with the Albany County Salary Transparency Law.

Job Requirements:


Qualifications
:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in board and cabinet relations, preferably in an academic or executive setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information.
  • Experience in budget management and team leadership.
  • Ability to respond to ongoing deadlines within the various components of the role including both long term planning and daily clerical functions.
  • Superior skill level with Google and Microsoft platforms is necessary, familiarity with BoardEffect and Banner is preferred.

A background screening will be required.
