Job DescriptionEmployee Benefits Customer Service Representative works closely with Account Managers and Account Executives to service clients and support implementation and renewal of employee benefits programs. Processes all employee benefits group applications. Supports agency and department goals/objectives by supporting Account Managers, Account Executives, and Risk Advisors. Establish, develop, and maintain professional relations with colleagues, carriers, and clients.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by proving timely day-to-day customer service to both carriers and clientele that may arise including claims, billing, eligibly, enrollment, and related service issues.
  • Under the direction of Account Managers, assist in fulfillment of annual Client Service Plans.
  • Assist Account Managers and Account Executives with assembly of client presentation materials.
  • Document all client inquiries and service issues in Applied Epic.
  • Process individual submissions with the direction of Account Executives, Account Managers and/or Risk Advisors.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA, underwriting guidelines, and related compliance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employee benefit coverages and program designs to fulfil needs of clients and prospects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Hold a valid North Carolina Life & Health license. Or the willingness to obtain within 60 days of employment.
  • Have a minimum of two years of insurance industry experience, employee benefits exposure preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus and excellent phone manner; display strong written and verbal communication skills and possess excellent math and reading skills to accurately perform simple calculations.
  • Have the ability and tact to handle difficult customer phone calls and solve complex problems without direct supervision.
  • Have a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Technology and Computer proficiency including agency management systems.
