The Role

Shutterstock is looking for an experienced Designer to join the Brand Studio and Marketing team. In this role you will be instrumental in creating marketing collateral across the Shutterstock portfolio of brands to effectively communicate our products and offerings to our audiences. This role is largely responsible for our email program working closely with our customer retention marketing team. You'll own projects from their inception to completion, from designing mockups to final delivery.

You'll work with a talented team of copywriters, designers, motion designers, curators and strategists to create captivating designs. This position will support the execution of our marketing plan. You will report to the Creative Director, Brand Design.

The Day-to-Day

• You'll meet with stakeholders to understand their design needs.

• You'll collaborate with creative leads, copywriters and curators on the team to align on the creative vision for a project.

• You'll find engaging ways to translate that vision into captivating design proposals.

• You'll apply your design skills and techniques to turn those proposals into eye-catching emails, landing pages, social posts, and more leveraging storytelling, engaging our audiences, and communicating key messages effectively.

• You'll address feedback throughout the production process.

• You'll help define the look and feel of our core brand and its extensions and sister brands.

• You'll ensure consistency of our brand voice across projects and channels.

What you'll do

• In this role you will become familiar with Shutterstock's brand, products, and offerings

• You will own production of your projects from start to finish, including creating designs and working closely with the team that will implement your work

• Collaborate closely with designers, motion designers, strategists, and your peers on the Marketing team to find creative and innovative ways to engage audiences with email content

• You'll ensure our brand language stays consistent across customer retention channels

• You work cross functionally with stakeholders within and beyond the Marketing team to fulfill creative needs and foster strong relationships

What we're looking for

• 5 years of experience as a designer

• Mastery of Photoshop & Figma

• Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite

• Keen eye for typography and type hierarchy and content design

• Experience designing for email, social media, and landing pages

• You have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and know when to ask follow up questions to get to the root of the challenge

• Familiarity with working cross-functionally-you know how to work with creatives and non-creatives

• Ability to articulate your ideas by creating storyboards or mockups

• Able to exercise creativity while maintaining brand voice

• Interested in current design trends and techniques

• A keen eye and understanding of marketing and advertising

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate ideas, give and receive feedback, and work effectively in a team environment

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities

• You are passionate about understanding our customers and apply those learnings into your strategy and approach

• A collaborative spirit with an outlook for problem solving.

• You're humble and objective. Able to provide, receive, and incorporate actionable feedback

Nice to haves

• You have in-house agency experience working specifically on email marketing

• You have some experience using Adobe AfterEffects to create motion graphics and gifs

• You have an working knowledge of HTML and CSS

• You have experience working with Contentful
