Position Summary

The Accounting Associate - AP Specialist is responsible for processing accounts payable, expense reports, and credit card reconciliation, as directed by Director of Finance. Additional accounting tasks are varied and will be assigned by the Director of Finance. The AP Specialist will operate in a self-reliant manner with no direct reports. A signed confidentiality agreement is required for this position. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Payables and Expense Reports:

• Ensure accurate approval, sorting, coding and matching of invoices/receipts
• Process payable invoices
• Review, code, and process employee expense reports
• Distribute, code, and enter company credit card account reconciliations
• Assign fleet vehicle mileage charges to projects as required
• Verify expenses are allocated to the specific job and coordinate billing with Project Accountant
• Process bi-weekly Payables, Expense Report checks, as well as ACH Payments.
• Other varied accounting task assigned by Manager

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

· Five or more years of experience in public/private accounting required 

· B.S. degree in Accounting preferred 

· Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry experience preferred

· Ajera/Acumatica project management software experience a plus

· Familiarization with accounting and finance methods in accordance with GAAP & Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) is a plus
