Shore View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a short term rehabilitation/long term care facility, located in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn is seeking a full time maintenance worker to join our team.

Maintenance worker will perform routine maintenance of facility, equipment and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and mechanical work.

FULL TIME position.

• 5 days a week
• 9am - 5pm
• MUST work every 3rd weekend

Job Duties

• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures. Install light switches, receptacles, ballast, and light fixtures, etc.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer and in compliance with established policies and procedures
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs
• Perform basic carpentry functions, i.e., mount book shelves, cabinets etc
• Preventive maintenance and testing of emergency door alarm, fire alarm, extinguishers, sprinkles, standpipe systems, water temperatures, and refrigerator readings.

Job Requirements

• Must possess all certificates of fitness and licenses as required by Federal, State and City Laws such as S95 and G46 or ability to take and pass such tests
• Minimum 1 year experience in building/plant maintenance
• Previous nursing home or hospital experience a plus.
• Must be able to lift, push, and move heavy equipment and supplies weighing up to 80 lbs throughout the workday
• Ability to use standard tools and follow safety precautions
• Ability to receive and follow preventive maintenance schedules and instructions
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must have flexible availability.
• Must have great customer service skills.
• Must be able to multitask in a fast pace environment
