This is not a remote position and candidates must be available to work in our corporate office located in Warwick, Rhode Island.
This position is responsible for working with referral sources and borrowers from application through closing to assure an efficient and timely funding of loans in conformity with Shoreham Bank (formerly Home Loan Investment Bank), SBA and USDA rules and regulations. In addition, this position will include limited loan servicing responsibilities, where the candidate will work hand in hand with the loan servicing staff.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. Communicate via e-mail and telephone with borrower, referral source, attorneys, insurance agents and other third parties to ensure correct and timely submission and satisfaction of all credit conditions and items required to apply/close. Recognize areas of possible delay and assist borrower in delivering the required documents; bring stumbling blocks to the attention of the Sr. Credit Analyst and AVP of Commercial Origination to enlist their advice on resolving.
2. Prepare and review Preliminary Loan Summaries and cash flow analysis with/for the benefit of the Commercial Credit Committee with the Underwriter and AVP of Commercial Operations.
3. Review all SBA and USDA loan applications prior to sending the loan to underwriting.
4. Review final closing documents and files to ensure needs of Shoreham Bank, SBA/USDA and borrower are met and necessary internal approvals are obtained prior to closing; reconcile escrow account, on an as needed basis.
5. Financial Statement and/or Tax Return analysis on all borrowers (Businesses and Personal) to determine the company performance using EBITDA.
6. Monitor each new loan through origination, approval, processing, closing, and post-closing and perform all required tasks throughout the loan process to ensure a timely closing.
7. Develop a firm understanding of SBA and USDA guidelines.
8. Board new loans via Core Boarding from Loan Vantage through to Jack Henry
9. Work with the loan servicing staff on processing commercial loan sales, payment adjustments, loan problems, and general servicing.
10. Financial Statement and/or Tax Return Analysis on all borrowers (Businesses and Personal) to determine the company performance using EBITDA.
11. Performs miscellaneous additional duties as assigned.
General tax return and financial statement knowledge is required.
