ShoeCarnival is Hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist Near Evansville, IN

Enjoy working on-site at Shoe Carnival's Distribution Center office located at 14701 IN-57, Evansville, IN 47725 Monday-Friday.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing, attracting, interviewing, hiring and

onboarding associates for Shoe Carnival's corporate office, distribution center, or stores. This position

will also lead a functional area such as Shoe Carnival's recruitment marketing, electronic I-9 process,

temp agency management and/or background check process.

  • Contributes to overall success of Shoe Carnival's recruitment strategy by recommending process and system enhancements.
  • Partners with hiring managers to understand their requirements and acts as a trusted source of best practices and advice.
  • Recruits and performs talent acquisition activities such as sourcing candidates, resume & phone screens and candidate interviews.
  • Provides candidate summaries and makes recommendations on most qualified candidates for the position.
  • Develops networks/partnerships to actively build database/pipeline of top tier talent.
  • Extends verbal & written employment offers to selected candidates while providing the appropriate notification to the remaining candidates.
  • Represents the company at recruiting events (college job fairs, hiring events, professional associations), providing company/job information and building relationships.
  • Develops and maintains working relationships with cross-functional teams to advance and support recruiting strategies.
  • Manages social media pages to include content creation, company updates, and comment/review maintenance.
  • Manages the I-9 correction report and resolves non-compliance issues.
  • Conducts new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring process is engaging and that procedures/policies are communicated clearly and accurately.
  • Updates reports such as employee lists and Recruitment Summary Reports as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Marketing, or related field required.
  • At least 1 year of related HR/Recruiting experience required; experience with project management, decision making, and executing recruitment marketing and branding strategies preferred.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource policies, procedures, and governmental regulations preferred.
  • SHRM-CP and/or other related certifications preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with the ability to keep information confidential.
  • Excellent interviewing, networking , and communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Strong creative and technical writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills to include Word, Excel, and Outlook, including databases to connect with and reach out to potential candidates.
