Shippensburg Rehabilitation and Health Care Center is a 125-bed skilled nursing facility located in Shippensburg, PA. We are currently recruiting for Culinary Assistants to join our team. These positions is part time and requires working every other weekend and holiday.

The Culinary Assistant is responsible for assisting the Cook with preparatory cooking, setting-up trays and all facets of clean up after meals.

Wages based on experience. Up to $13.00/hour

Available shifts:

• 3:30pm-7pm includes every other weekend
• 4pm-7:30pm including every other weekend

Major Job Duties:

• Assist the cook with preparation of the meals.
• Set-up trays for meals
• Respond to residents’ requests at meal time, and serve as requested.
• Collect tray carts after completion of meal service.
• Wash pots, pans, utensils, dishes etc. after meals.
• Assist in other general clean-up and sanitation tasks in the kitchen.
• Empty trash and clean trash cans.
• Sweep and mop dining room and kitchen floor.
• Assist in the stocking shelves and organizing kitchen.
• Set-up resident’s snack trays and deliver to resident units.
• Perform in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Cook or Dietary Supervisory to ensure the effective daily operation of the kitchen and meal service.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities In: General knowledge of food preparation and appropriate dining service techniques, ability to read and follow directions in English; ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors; ability to work with residents; ability to present neat, clean appearance at work.
