We are looking for an inspired and dedicated individual to join our Mississippi team as a Wellness Coordinator. Job Summary: The Wellness Coordinator creates opportunities for Early/Head Start Families and Staff to enhance wellness and resilience in fun and empowering ways. This position works with members of the local community to bring presentations, activities, and resources into Head Start schools. The Wellness Coordinator also creates safe and trauma-informed learning environments by facilitating activities, trainings, and workshops that help improve the wellbeing of Head Start staff, students, and families. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Provides information to staff about ways to promote wellness with students and families Works with the Head Start program team to develop and conduct wellness activities, events, and presentations for students, families, and staff to strengthen resilience of the Head Start program and community Meets, secures, and coordinates guest speakers who specialize in different areas of resilience and wellness Meets with Head Start staff members and families to assess wellness needs Develops appropriate strategies to support staff and family wellness Communicates the wellness needs of Head Start staff, students, and families to leadership team or appropriate entity Assists with the development of budgets, policies, and procedures for enhancing wellness of the Head Start Community Completes timely reports as required by the program and requested by supervisor or appropriate entity Assists in the procurement of funding for wellness initiatives Provides appropriate referrals for community-based services as needed Assists Family Advocates in conducting wellness checks for students and families, as needed Maintains real time documentation in data system of staff and family interactions as required by program Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in social service or human resources field; Master’s degree preferred Experience working with children, families, and staff in ethnically diverse communities Physical exam and background checks are required for this position Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation The annual salary for this position is $52,715.52 Application Closing Date: May 10th 2024 This position earns up to 52,715.52 Annually We are an equal opportunity employer, committed to creating a diverse and healthy workplace.
