Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Procurement Specialist based out of Denver, CO. This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the city.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs the most complex tasks within a particular field.
  • Under very limited direction, purchases supplies and services from vendors at the lowest cost, according to the company standards and specifications.
  • Prepares requests for quotations and proposals, analyzes quotes and proposals received, selects vendors and subcontractors, schedules and expedites deliveries and follows up on invoices received.
  • May have responsibility for contracts administration on a large project or full management responsibility for contracts administration on a medium-size project.
  • Demonstrates the ability to formulate and compile a variety of related Contract packages with responsibility for administering these packages during execution, including formation of the necessary documentation for adequate Contract control.
  • This level is viewed as advanced within the scope of the position.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FARs (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement) experience
  • Federal procurement and subcontractor experience
  • Previous heavy civil construction project experience
  • Purchase goods or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organization
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Track inventory and restock goods when needed
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and new products
  • Compare available goods with industry trends to determine appropriate pricing

Additional Information:

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

The salary range for this position is between $100,000 - 115,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
