Our Summer Internship Program is geared towards students entering their junior or senior year of college, who have past, applicable internship experience. The Fabricator Internship is an hourly (non-exempt), full-time opportunity that runs from May 27th, 2024 – August 2nd, 2024. 

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Fabricator Intern will work in all phases of fabrication for each of our unique projects specifically designed for our clients. The Fabricator has a direct impact on how each product is crafted and delivered to the client. You will return to school with practical knowledge and experience that is sure to enhance your skill set and career goals. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:

• Perform day-to-day shop and fabrication related tasks

• Work and collaborate as a team to complete projects on a timely schedule

• Must be willing to be used in all phases of fabrication 

• Always maintain a safe and positive work environment

• Must be a reliable team member who takes direction well and is a self starter

• Learn and improve every day

• Possess an exceptional eye for quality and detail

• Demonstrate a willingness and aptitude for using both hand and power tools

• Works well as a part of a team and as directed by more tenured Fabrication team members

• Fulfill production duties assigned as needed

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Some level of experience working with tools or with your hands is preferred

• Knowledge of fractions, decimals as well standard and metric measurements

• Ability to use various measuring tools

• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch all day and frequently lift or move heavy objects

• The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawl

• The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

• Employee must be able to talk and hear

SHIFT HOURS

• Full time position, five day work week with overtime as needed

Due to our onsite Fabrication process, the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
