Job Title: Line Cook
Location: Solete at Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel
Job Description: Solete at Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel is seeking a talented Line Cook to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests by preparing and cooking food items with precision and attention to detail. This position requires a passion for culinary excellence, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and specifications, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
Set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients, utensils, and equipment prior to service.
Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely and efficient preparation and delivery of food orders.
Monitor food levels and replenish supplies as needed to maintain station readiness during service periods.
Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including regular cleaning of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
Follow proper cooking techniques and presentation standards to achieve the desired taste and appearance of each dish.
Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, rotating perishable items, and reporting any shortages or discrepancies.
Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and conduct in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar role within a hotel or upscale restaurant setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment operation.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to meet business needs.
Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution is a plus, but not required.
