Sheraton Madison is Hiring a Lobby / Public Area Attendant Near Madison, WI

Summary: To clean and maintain all public restrooms and public areas in impeccable condition to achieve company standards of cleanliness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor as needed.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition to effectively communicate with guests, team members and community.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Legacy Ventures Service standards as outlined in the Blueprint and other policies / rules of conduct, to include personal appearance / grooming, attendance and safe / efficient operations.
  • Thoroughly clean sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, stalls, vents and/or floors with cleaning agents for all public restrooms.
  • Thoroughly dust all furniture, pictures, and shelves, extending arms over head, bending and stooping as needed for all public spaces.
  • Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
  • Replenishes supplies for business center and other areas as needed.
  • Cleans corridors and stairways; vacuums rugs, carpets, upkeep upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Dusts furniture. Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets, transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Removes any items left behind from public areas and takes to lost and found with proper documentation.
  • Reports any maintenance related problems to the maintenance department through the proper communication channels.
  • Possess thorough knowledge of all in house information and events along with local area information to assist guest when needed.
  • Associate will empower himself to accept any customer problem brought to their attention as their problem and do everything in their power to get the problem resolved.
  • Associate will assume the responsibility of maintaining the storerooms in a clean, neat, and organized state.
  • Acknowledgment and a pleasant greeting given to each and every guest. Interacts with internal and external customers in a positive, professional and accommodating manner.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
    Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
