Sheppard Pratt is an inpatient psychiatric hospital in Towson serving adults and adolescents.

The Adult Mood Disorders Unit is a nationally and internationally recognized program for the treatment of individuals with trauma-related conditions including dissociative disorders and other complex post-traumatic conditions. Our program utilizes an intensive multi-disciplinary treatment approach through individual therapy, milieu therapy, and process-oriented, experiential, and psycho-educational group therapies. 

As a Social Worker you will:

• Perform a full range of clinical social work services in support of the patient's primary therapist/treatment team.
•  Interview patients and families to assess psychosocial problems, develop treatment plans, and monitor and evaluate patient progress.
• Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions for patients and their families in order to assist in resolving personal and environmental problems that prevent them from achieving their highest level of psychosocial functioning.
• Participate as a member of the treatment team or, if working on a residential program or an outpatient clinic, as a primary therapist.
• Develop and assist in the implementation of discharge and aftercare plans.

Requires:

• Master's degree in social work and a MD state LMSW or LCSW-C license by time of hire.
• All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment. 

*If position is filled by an LMSW, individual will be required to receive 100 hours of supervision provided by a board-approved SPHS LCSW-C supervisor and is expected to apply and sit for the LCSW-C license within 2 to 3 years of acceptance of LMSW role. Will be required to participate in a minimum of 3 hours of face-to-face supervision per month with the LCSW-C supervisor. Will be responsible for maintaining documentation, for at least 5 years, of supervisory sessions including dates, duration, and focus of supervision, to be available for verification to the Board.
