As a Nursing Shift Coordinator you will:

• Serve as a resource to nursing staff members by providing on-site senior level clinical and administrative support resource for after-hours urgencies throughout the Hospital.
• Have the opportunity to lead hospital-wide allocation and coordination of nursing resources in accordance with established standards of practice.
• Utilize clinical expertise in the delivery of direct patient care as needed, consultative activities, staff development, and treatment planning.
• Assess and coordinate the resolution of clinical crises that occur during assigned shift
• Monitor the quality of nursing care services and work with the senior nursing leadership team to ensure any concerns are addressed appropriately
• Participate as a member of Nursing Department management in the development of Nursing policies, procedures, standards of practice, and in the planning and evaluation of Nursing operations.

Requirements: 

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland at time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in position. BSN is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in psychiatric nursing, patient care and regulatory requirements, clinical and managerial skills, and orientation to the specialized needs of varying patient populations.
• Must possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment.
