Job Summary
The Core System Analyst I is responsible for mid-level computer support of the credit union infrastructure.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Consistently meet all Shell FCU Service Commitments; Shell FCU Employee Creed and Shell FCU Service Distinctions
  • Accountable to maintain knowledge of and comply with all applicable rules and regulations required within the scope of duties, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act
  • Required to attend annual training sessions as instructed or scheduled
  • Perform job duties and responsibilities in compliance to SFCU policies, procedures, philosophy, and standards of performance
  • Provides primary support for the credit union's core system and related systems including Databases, Automation, and Application Servers. This includes planning, designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting, processing schedules, building Job Files, automating processing, and upgrading the system hardware and software as needed
  • Designs, supports, and implements automation of processes for the core system, the credit union network, and with third party systems. This includes analysis and re-engineering processes across departments to improve productivity and effectiveness of users. Documents new processes and updates as needed
  • Participate in routine system maintenance. Modify job files, batch processing, parameters, test directories, consoles and print queues, security groups and other items associated with the core system and automation software. Make changes at the request of Credit Union management and staff while adhering to Change Management process
  • Provides end-user support to all levels of employees on all core-related platforms, including application support. Troubleshoots, suggests fixes or workarounds, and modifies system parameters as needed to allow business units to achieve objectives
  • Provides support to the project management office and management on all project tasks, requirements, technical support, and development updates
  • Works with management to administer and update user roles within core systems. Provides periodic audit reports and changes to CIO, ISO, and Risk Department
  • Follows Change Management guidelines, including submitting and following change requests. This includes periodic updates to management and documentation for the team
  • Assists in implementation of core system releases and updates, including working with other areas to ensure smooth deployments
  • Work closely with team members on issues to fully resolve in a timely manner
  • Maintain a high level of communication with all affected departments of upcoming or current changes to application systems and provide the necessary information to help assist in the implementation of those changes
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed which can include nights and weekends
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills
Experience:
  • Minimum two years of IT similar or related experience.
  • Minimum two years' experience working in a technology-based support environment (Help Desk, Operation Systems Support).
Education / Training:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school preferred.
  • Working knowledge of a programming language (C#, Java, SQL, PowerShell) preferred
  • Two to three years of advanced, hand-on knowledge of Windows Servers and/or various Databases.
Job Requirements:
  • Knowledge of credit union products and services preferred (JHA Symitar, Episys, ARCU, Synergy, Synapsys)

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Possess well-developed communication skills using tact and persuasiveness to reach an objective and maintain goodwill

  • Proficient computer skills for data extraction and transmission tools (SFTP, SSH, Putty, SQL, PowerShell)
  • Accuracy with numbers and attention to detail are needed
  • Proficient level knowledge of Microsoft end user products such as Microsoft Office 2012 or above
  • Must possess professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Position requires participation in on-call rotations as needed or assigned.
  • Position will at times require participation in after-hours or weekend work.
  • Must be prepared to participate in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, or Incident Response scenarios.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle workloads during emergencies or stressful time sensitive situations.
  • Ability to work in an open-concept workspace/environment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend and stand. May at times be able to lift, carry and/or move up to 15 pounds.
