Shell Federal Credit Union was chartered in Feb 1937 to provide financial services to its 40 original members inside the Shell Deer Park plant. As members not customers, they were part owners and as such, had a voice in how the Credit Union was to be run. The charter members elected a volunteer board to oversee CU operations and today Shell FCUs field of membership includes anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Harris County, Texas. Today, Shell Federal Credit Union proudly serves over 90,000 members, manages more than $1 billion in members assets and employs over 275 dedicat...ed professionals. In addition to time spent at work, some employees are also part of the FCU Furthering Community Unity Team powered by Shell FCU. Shell FCU offers its members a full range of financial products and services, including competitive savings accounts, free checking, second chance checking, affordable loans, short term loans, mortgages, certificates/IRAs, free online services, business account services, free financial education and more. For longer term investments the Credit Union provides access to the MEMBERS Financial Services Program. Credit Union membership is a value added benefit businesses can also offer their employees. The sole purpose of Shell FCU is to meet the financial needs of members while providing them exceptional member service.
