WHERE YOU FIT IN

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in energy, technology, and a passion to deliver products for a growing company. The Senior Complex Billing Analyst is responsible for all operational aspects of our large complex customers, including but not limited to, billing, monitoring, and communication with large and complex customers. The Senior Complex Billing Analyst is also responsible for training, testing, troubleshooting, and reporting.

Reporting into the Manager of Retail Operations, Billing the role requires self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for accurate and timely processing of complex billing invoices for large and complex customers.
  • Responsible for quality customer service via telephone and email communications for large and complex customers only.
  • Responsible for understanding the monthly/yearly retail settlement calculation and rates to be utilized during the invoicing process.
  • Understand and QC periodic reviews of loss factors, rate code mapping, etc.
  • Develop and maintain internal control processes and procedures to ensure timely and accurate billing of complex billing customers.
  • Serves as a liaison to Sales and Settlements groups to ensure proper alignment, expectations, and calculations of complex billing contracts.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining complex customer reports.
  • Works closely with the Director of Retail Operations for special and high priority projects as well as testing and troubleshooting system enhancements and new technology that will affect the day to day in the department.
  • Responsible for analyzing and troubleshooting customer questions and concerns including working with other departments to ensure the best customer service interaction possible.
  • Responsible for backing up other analysts on the team as well as their responsibilities when necessary for all customer segments.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5-7 years of experience in Retail Energy 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Degree Required, some college preferred 
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities
  • Strong team player with commitment to excellence
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of the energy industry 
  • Comprehensive understanding of business rules and operations
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and time management skills
  • Possess a wide degree of creativity and innovation
  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve and articulate thoughts and concepts well
  • Ability to think strategically as well as understand the practical, day-to-day implementation requirements for successful completion
  • Conflict management and resolution
  • Possess leadership mentality with the ability to lead by example and capacity to influence
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Word, Excel, Access 
  • SQL experience is helpful
  • Knowledge of CAISO, ERCOT, PJM, MISO, NYISO, NEISO, PUC and/or TDSP/TDU standards

LOCATION & WORK SCHEDULE

Required to be in-person in Houston, TX through a hybrid workplace environment
