Job Responsibilities
As an Automotive Service Manager, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities concerned with servicing, operation, and maintenance of automobiles.
Additional responsibilities include:
Greeting customers and assisting them with any inquiries they may have Performing vehicle walk-around and documentation of customer concerns to enable the technician to properly diagnose and service the vehicle
Consulting with customer on applicable service specials Prioritizing required services and providing options upon request Documenting declines for services and asking for follow-up on future service considerations
Keeping customer informed on completion times, service expenses, and possible changes
Remaining involved in delivery of vehicle to customer upon completion to ensure all customer concerns are addressed
Providing concierge support for all owner inquiries, whether by phone or in person, to ensure the customer does not get mishandled
Spending quality time building relationship with the customer
Balancing Daily Books, invoices, cash/credit transaction
Maintain Site Image
Provide leadership to a team of technicians
Negotiating parts costs with parts suppliers
Managing inventory
Implement company’s policies for image, safety, customer service etc.
Create cost saving measures
Job Requirements
Successful candidates for the Automotive Service Manager must know the product well enough to answer characteristic and operational questions regarding the customer’s vehicle.
Someone with an enthusiasm and willingness to learn would be a good fit for this dynamic role.
Additional requirements of the Automotive Service Manager role include:
High school diploma or higher
At least 2 years of Automotive Service Management experience
Basic computer skills a plus including Windows, Microsoft office, email
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, MVR, and drug test.
