Overview

The Grader/Sorter I – Gemstone Procurement is an entry level position responsible for sorting and quality assessment of all gemstone & pearl material, invoices/memos, and matching gemstones in accordance with Company quality standards.

The pay range for this role is $21-25 per hour. 

Responsibilities

• Create all applicable documents required for purchase order process based on direction given.
• Assist in distribution of all open orders to vendors.
• Advise leadership of any potential impact to business operations.
• Grade, sort and ensure quality standards are adhered to regarding gemstone & pearl products.
• Work closely with Assistant Manger with costs and determination of acceptable rejection rate.
• Communicate all rejections to Assistant Manager.
• Make Assistant Manager aware of any price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.
• Make Assistant Manager aware and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization.
• Assist in cross functional team capacity to collaboratively provide information, prepare reports and updates as directed by Assistant Manager.
• Work closely with Assistant Manager in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures.
• Assist in any material reporting analysis.
• Assist in compiling data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience working with gem material.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with cross functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to accept input from various departments.
• Possess excellent manual dexterity with small items.
• Demonstrated ability to see and discern very minor details both to the naked eye and with the aid of magnification.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
• Intermediate skills with Outlook, Excel and Word preferred, but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability with math.
  • Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
  • Understanding and ability to work with decimal numbers, fractions, and percentages
  • Ability to convert fracctions, decimals, and percentages
• Experience with SAP preferred, but not mandatory.

Work Environment

This role is an on-site part of the Home Office team. The primary environment for this role is an open office. Considerable business is conducted using the telephone and computer technology. This role may be approved to work remotely on specific occasions but that does not change the ongoing classification of the role as on-site. Travel may be required to stores, conferences or events less than 5% of the time.

The pay range for this role is $21-25 per hour. The range describes the minimum to maximum likely rate for this job description in the state of Colorado. Individual pay will be determined based on skills and qualifications for the role. The salary range for this same position may be lower or higher in markets outside of Colorado.
