Job Description:

Fidelity Investments Life Insurance (FILI) is looking for an Associate Actuary to help drive our annuity product development and pricing initiatives. Join a diverse team that builds, promotes, and supports Fidelity’s outstanding future state experience.

The Role

  • Price and design annuity products
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis, sensitivity analysis and industry comparisons.
  • Be responsible for the actuarial components of annuity filings such as actuarial memorandums, demonstrations and state responses.
  • Conduct asset/liability analysis and determine credited rates for fixed products
  • Develop and evaluate models that will allow clients to assess how annuities can be an important part of a financial plan.
  • Analyze product experience including lapses, withdrawals, mortality, and expenses to identify trends and benchmark against pricing assumptions.
  • Assess investment option lineup, recommend new additions and improvements.
  • Play a key role in implementing new products by creating system specifications.
  • Review product related marketing, sales and training materials.
  • Participate in reinsurance discussions and related risk management exercises.
  • Present to senior management on a periodic basis.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or Physics
  • 10 years of proven insurance experience
  • Fellow in the Society of Actuaries
  • Member of the American Academy of Actuaries
  • Broad based insurance background including exposure to distribution, marketing, systems, client services, and finance with a clear understanding of the interactions between these areas.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain sophisticated topics to non-technical people at all organizational levels
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships as you work collaboratively across teams

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
