Sewer Equipment is Hiring a MRO Buyer Near Dixon, IL

Description

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, this role is responsible for purchasing tools and parts following established procedures, issuing tools and parts to maintenance mechanics, and maintaining accurate inventory through effective record-keeping practices.

Primary Responsibilities/Requirements:

  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services per MRO Purchasing Requisition requests.
  • Maintain and monitor supplier performance and adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Expedites purchase orders based on changing demand and/or supplier performance.
  • Negotiates to ensure highest quality, lowest cost, competitive lead time, and minimal inventory investment.
  • Maintains item database including current unit costs, supplier information, and item master data.
  • Reviews and resolves invoice variances with suppliers and accounts payable as needed.
  • Identifies, develops, leads, and participates in continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain professional relationships with key vendors.
  • Establish alternative sourcing for critical and long lead items.
  • Maintain price comparison strategies to ensure favorable continuity.
  • Track all purchases for scheduling, status, and contract compliancy.
  • Assist sales with ‘A’ items.

Commitments and Location:

  • Full-Time Role Based in Dixon, IL
  • Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Benefits Include:

  • Base salary starting at $40,000 - $45,000
  • Commission/Bonus program with potential of up to 10% of salary.
  • Productivity bonus, paid quarterly. Average 2023 annual payout was $6,000. Payouts are based on overall company profitability and attendance.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 2-3 years of experience in related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing and inventory control procedures.
  • Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment.
  • This role does not require any domestic travel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
