Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Rate: $2300 Weekly

Shift: 36hrs - 3x12hrs - 7p - 7a - Nights

Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Telemetry unit in Fayetteville, NC, you will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients with cardiac and other medical conditions requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. Utilizing telemetry technology and clinical expertise, you will assess, monitor, and manage patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs to ensure timely intervention and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients admitted to the Telemetry unit, including obtaining medical history, assessing cardiac status, and evaluating symptoms.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry monitoring equipment, promptly identifying and responding to any abnormal findings or arrhythmias.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical orders.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, monitoring patient responses and managing potential side effects.
• Assess and manage patients' pain levels, providing appropriate pain management interventions and ensuring patient comfort.
• Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications to promote self-care and adherence to therapeutic regimens.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, including assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including providing concise handoffs during shift changes and reporting changes in patient condition.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and staff development activities to enhance patient care outcomes and promote evidence-based practice.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, safety regulations, and organizational policies to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.

Requirements:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of North Carolina
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
• Previous experience in Telemetry or cardiac nursing preferred but not required for entry-level positions.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients simultaneously.
• Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring equipment preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be preferred.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
