Job Title: Registered Nurse - LDRP

Location: Dunkirk, NY

Salary: $2,880 weekly

Shift: 3x12s - 36hrs/wk - Days.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at a leading healthcare facility in Dunkirk, NY. As a Registered Nurse in our Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit, you will play a crucial role in providing safe and high-quality care for pregnant women and their newborns.

Responsibilities:

1. Delivery and Recovery: Assist with the delivery of babies, including monitoring vital signs of both mother and baby, managing pain relief, and providing emotional support. Oversee the immediate postpartum period, ensuring proper care and monitoring.

2. Postpartum Care: Assess and monitor the physical and emotional well-being of mothers following childbirth. Provide education and support on breastfeeding, infant care, and self-care.

3. Neonatal Care: Attend to the newborns, perform initial assessments, and provide care such as feeding, administering medications, and monitoring their vital signs.

4. Collaboration: Coordinate with other members of the healthcare team, including obstetricians, pediatricians, and lactation consultants, to ensure comprehensive care for mother-baby dyads.

5. Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, addressing their concerns, explaining medical procedures, and promoting a positive birthing experience.

6. Documentation: Accurately document patient information, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Maintain comprehensive records in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures.

7. Adherence to Policies and Guidelines: Follow all relevant clinical guidelines, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols. Adhere to legal, ethical, and professional nursing standards.

8. Continuous Learning: Stay updated with current practices and advancements in obstetric care through ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Requirements:

- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of New York.

- Must have prior experience working as an LDRP nurse or in a similar obstetric setting, preferably at least 2 years of experience.

- Strong knowledge of prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations and adapt to changing circumstances.

- Proficient in documenting patient information accurately and efficiently.

- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is an asset.
