Overview/ Job Responsibilities

The Network Administrator will work in our Woodbridge, VA Headquarters office and support our Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Application Hosting Program.

Job Responsibilities: Working on a 24/7/365 Operations Team supporting HHS, the Network Administrator must have the ability to:

• Maintain network security and configure routers (Juniper and Cisco) and (Cisco ASA/Firepower) firewalls.
• Analyze and recommend solutions, upgrades services to streamline process and recommend improvements.
• Maintain hardware and software for network and perform troubleshooting as necessary.
• Create and manage firewall contexts both in on-premise data center and AWS cloud-based environments.
• Understanding the Customer mission to assist with engineering requirements.
• Analyze and perform troubleshooting on data center network cabling/patch panels
• Administer, commission, and decommission IP addresses while maintaining an accurate inventory.
• Provide Tier I and Tier II after hours support for all program related requirements
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all Information Assurance policies and enforce compliance to all network security policies.
• Assist with maintaining backups of all systems, including network, applications, and managed hosting tools to support SLA requirements.
• Manage and document network diagrams supporting hosted applications and create/update operational procedures.
• Monitor hardware inventory and device uptime for network.
• Participate in on-call support on rotational basis.
• Ensure and provide effective customer service to customers.
• Support and troubleshoot TACACS solution

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related degree; Without a degree a H.S. Diploma required and 4 additional years of relevant work experience.

• 2-4 yrs. of enterprise LAN and WAN experience
• Must have network configuration and CLI (command line interface) experience.
• At least 2 years’ experience with AWS, Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS, and Cisco ASA/Firepower firewalls or a firewall that is similar.
• Understanding cable design from Cat 6, Multi-mode and Single-mode; able to create Cat-6 wiring, troubleshooting cabling (Cat-6, multi-mode and Single-mode)
• Experience supporting computer network installation, maintenance, and support
• Experience supporting both Cisco and Juniper network devices; Juniper is a requirement.
• Flexible - The environment is highly dynamic and requires someone with a strong work ethic, has attention to detail, and can take the initiative to learn on the fly.
• Good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

Eligibility/Clearance Requirements: Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and successfully attain a Public Trust Clearance – Level 6

Desired Qualifications

• JNCIA or CCNA preferred.
• Experience supporting Amazon Web Services. An AWS certification if a huge plus.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation) and scripting (Bash/Python)
