Overview/ Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated AppDynamics Administrator to join our team. As an AppDynamics Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our enterprise application performance monitoring solution. Your expertise in AppDynamics administration and monitoring will be crucial in ensuring the optimal performance and availability of our critical applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and makes a significant impact on our federal customer organization's application performance management strategy.

This position requires onsite presence at the customer location (Arlington, VA) one day per week.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and upgrade the AppDynamics platform based on organizational requirements and best practices.
• Monitor the performance and availability of critical applications and infrastructure using AppDynamics.
• Configure and fine-tune application and infrastructure monitoring, including agents, metrics, health rules, and alerts to capture relevant performance data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design effective monitoring strategies using AppDynamics.
• Provide ongoing administration, maintenance, and support for the AppDynamics platform to ensure its reliability, scalability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the AppDynamics platform, collaborating with relevant teams and vendors as necessary.
• Monitor and analyze application and infrastructure performance data collected by AppDynamics to identify and address bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and other performance-related issues.
• Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to proactively identify potential performance risks and implement preventive measures.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to the AppDynamics platform, including installation guides, configuration standards, procedures, and troubleshooting resources.
• Stay up to date with the latest features, enhancements, and best practices of AppDynamics, continuously exploring opportunities to optimize and enhance the monitoring solution.
• Participate in capacity planning initiatives to ensure the AppDynamics platform meets the organization's growing monitoring needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their monitoring requirements and provide guidance on utilizing AppDynamics effectively.
• Train and educate users on AppDynamics functionality, enabling them to utilize the platform for application performance management and troubleshooting.
• Participate in change management processes to ensure the smooth deployment, configuration, and integration of AppDynamics across the environment.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of automation strategies and scripts to streamline monitoring activities and enhance efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Proven experience as an AppDynamics Administrator managing and maintaining enterprise-level application performance monitoring solutions.
• Strong proficiency in installing, configuring, and upgrading the AppDynamics platform, including agents, controllers, and associated components.
• Excellent understanding of application performance monitoring concepts, including transaction monitoring, infrastructure visibility, and code-level diagnostics.
• Familiarity with enterprise application architecture, including web technologies, databases, distributed systems, and cloud platforms.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the AppDynamics platform and associated integrations.
• Proficiency in analyzing performance data, identifying trends, and making data-driven recommendations for performance improvement.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to approach issues with a systematic and thoughtful mindset.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications, such as AppDynamics Certified Administrator, are a plus.
• Eligibility/Clearance Requirements: Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.

• Active DHS/CISA suitability - 1st priority
• Any DHS badge DoD Top Secret - 2nd choice
• DoD Top Secret willingness to obtain DHS/CISA suitability - 3rd choice (it can take 10-60 days to obtain suitability – work can only begin once suitability is fully adjudicated).
