POSITION: STUDENT FINANCIAL SERVICES STUDENT ASSISTANT
REPORTS TO: STUDENT FINANCIAL SERVICES ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
NORMAL WORK AREA: MAIN CAMPUS & UNRESTRICTED EDUCATION OFFICE

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
● Must be currently enrolled in undergraduate courses

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
● Strong customer service, interpersonal skills and communication skills
● Willingness to work in a team environment
● Ability to quickly learn general Financial Aid procedures and knowledge
● Contain detail-oriented mindset and ability to multi-task
● Ability to protect and maintain confidential information
● Exhibit a positive attitude and capable of handling challenging situations in a
professional manner

TRAINING TIME

DUTIES AND OTHER JOB RELATED ACTIVITIES

● General Duties

• Welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner; display the positive
  reputation and character of the university to all visitors
• Manage and coordinate walk-in/phone appointments assigning to counselors in
  a timely manner
• Read and categorize office emails by sorting to appropriate counselors inboxes
  Provide answers to general inquiries about Financial Aid forms and procedures
• Answer and return phone calls addressing student financial information
• Assist counselor in reviewing student accounts
• Record student information in an orderly fashion
• Efficiently use PowerFAIDS and Jenzabar systems to determine student statuses
• Assists with other tasks as assigned

● Scanning Duties

• Scan and classify federal and financial aid documents utilizing a system
  comprised of applicable financial aid categories
• Efficiently use Document Manager system to scan, upload, and file documents
• Exhibit a detail-oriented work ethic
