SETAERO is Hiring a Configuration Specialist / Technical Writer Near Miami, FL

Working under the direction of the Quality Control Manager, this individual is responsible for Providing on-site technical support tasks and interacting with Quality, Planning, Production and Customer Service Department personnel in the continual enhancement of the Company's Maintenance Process. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Miami Lakes, FL.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews OEM and Customer Maintenance Manuals, repair orders, drawings, Illustrated Parts Catalog/List and other related technical data, to accurately provide repair and modification data on aviation articles to maintenance personnel and accurate data on replacement parts/consumables for customer service quotations to customers.
  • Coordinate with material department to ensure availability and timely delivery of parts and materials to maintenance work orders.
  • identify availability of replacement parts, alternate parts, PAH, PMA, OEM effectivity codes, OEM Service Bulletins/Letters.
  • Develop new and streamline current maintenance methods and procedures. Implement corrective action plans to ensure delivery of articles on schedule; develop lean processes to identify and eliminate waste.
  • Develops internal work instructions for maintenance based on OEM, Customer and regulatory accepted and approved data.
  • Develops and Maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) for recurrent maintenance articles.
  • Improve processes to support business needs and meet regulatory requirements
  • Attends production meetings and assists customer service and maintenance operations in providing timely technical assessments of customer articles' scope of maintenance.
  • Provides input to Production Team concerning component design/maintenance issues, proposals and revisions.
  • Follows-up on changes/revisions to drawings, technical data and other maintenance documentation. Supports the review and release of engineering data.
  • Assist maintenance personnel, Planning and customer service with product-technical specific support questions.
  • Maintain effective relationship and integrative activities with other departments on all pertinent maintenance support matters; ensure two-way information exchange, with respect to potential issues, schedule deviations, and quality concerns.
  • Prepare reports, forecasts, charts and historical data as required. for all technical aspects of product lines.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Working knowledge of aviation maintenance technical data.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Repair and inspection experience in a FAA Repair Station environment.
  • Must be able to read and interpret detailed technical drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to accurately measure and use measuring tools to meet written specifications.
  • Working knowledge of general tooling use such as rivet machine, air tools, hammers, clamps, wrenches and various other disassembly/assembly tools.
  • Requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have ability to relay technical terminology effectively.
  • Must have excellent computer skills, master MS office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Quantum or other ERP systems is a plus.
