Trace3 is assisting our client in search of a cabling technician

Overview of the Role:
The Network and Communications Technician is pivotal in maintaining and supporting the infrastructure for telephone and data communication across all company locations, including corporate offices and manufacturing plants. This individual is tasked with the upkeep of computer communications, networking systems, access control, and audio-visual setups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute the setup, cabling, and installation of communication pathways, including both twisted pair cabling and fiber optics.
• Oversee the configuration and setup of telephony systems, paging devices, time-keeping systems, and associated apparatus.
• Manage and troubleshoot VoIP cloud-based systems, encompassing elementary network diagnostics.
• Address and rectify issues as part of emergency maintenance requests.
• Sustain the operation of AV systems, telephony, and IP surveillance equipment.
• Administer and maintain entry control systems across various company premises.
• Liaise with the Communications Manager for projects requiring significant investment in equipment or manpower.
• Keep up-to-date installation documents and paperwork as directed by the Communications Manager.
• Organize and submit personal leave applications, expenditure filings, and fuel card statements for managerial approval.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by senior management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• An Associate degree in a technical discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong foundation in managing telephony systems, voicemail, paging, IP surveillance, and data communication technologies.
• Proficient in computer operations related to communication system configurations.
• Capability to work autonomously or under minimal oversight.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.13 - $27.85 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
