Works collaboratively with Principal, Project Manager and the client to solve the client’s problems in all of their interactions. Ensures the department's software, techniques, and tools up to date.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Creates, implements, and maintains AutoCAD standards (linetypes, text, layer, blocks, etc.)
- Establishes departmental standards for software, techniques, and tools to prepare technical drawings
- Develops Civil 3D parts and pipe networks
- Prioritizes workflow and manages multiple projects at a time
- Manages and troubleshoots AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, GIS, etc.
- Develops and implements new ways to streamline the workflow process
- Ensure standards and procedures comply with CAD standards book
- Creates and improves on details library
- Integrates AutoCAD and GIS
- Stays current with new software and technology to improve workflow
- Evaluates existing software and provides recommendations for customization, upgrades or new software
- Provide training and supervision of in-house CAD users
- Coordinates project deliverables, and design documents
- Prepares proposal estimates of time and expenses required to complete project
- Conducts performance evaluation and provides performance feedback
- Counsels employees to reinforce policies and procedures
- Manages employees, provides oversite and direction
- Coaches, mentors, provides training and staff career development
- Travels 10% of the time which may be out of state
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has management responsibilities.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in related field, a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and Bentley
- Valid Driver’s License and possess reliable transportation to access job sites
- Desired AutoCAD or AutoDesk Certificate
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, GIS, Design software as applicable, MS Word, Excel, Adobe.
