AGENCY SUMMARY
The Service Oklahoma (SOK) mission is to ease the stress in navigating government services by providing a best-in-class customer experience. We are Oklahomans helping Oklahomans by providing driver license and motor vehicle services on behalf of the state.
This position has an annual rate of $65,000.00.
The Service Oklahoma offers a generous benefits package, including a benefits allowance to off-set the costs of medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. The Service Oklahoma will match up to 7% towards an employee’s Defined Contribution retirement plan. Our employees receive 11 paid holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, which increases with every 5 years of service, and 15 days of paid sick leave. Additionally, employees will receive longevity payments based on their years of service with the State of Oklahoma.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Internal Communications Manager plays a key role in the Communications Division. This position will develop and execute the Service Oklahoma employee communication strategy. Through developing a comprehensive communications calendar, this position will drive employee culture and engagement while managing all internal communications including regular email updates and monthly and weekly newsletters. This role also tracks email analytics, employee surveys and other data points to inform and adjust SOK’s internal communications strategy.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The job duties of this position may include responsibilities listed below.
· Develop and execute an internal communications calendar with key employee dates, email notifications, newsletters, etc.
· Formulates high-quality written and visual content for employee communication
· Manage the monthly employee newsletter including developing story ideas, writing, editing and proofing content
· Develop a weekly employee video newsletter and curate content in coordination with key stakeholders across the agency.
· Write, edit and proof internal forms and manuals as needed.
· Coordinates all inter-agency communication through govDelivery including distribution list management.
· Manages agency intranet site.
· Manage internal video projects and work with communications team to create digital content for internal audiences.
· Works with the executive team, communications team, human resources and other agency divisions to align all internal communications.
· Work with the human resources division to foster employee engagement and agency culture.
· Work with Social Media Manager to create quality content for internal-facing social media posts.
· Analyzes data to determine whether internal communications have achieved objectives
· Attends events at the direction of the Sr. Director of Communications.
· Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
· Professional and business writing skills including copywriting and copyediting.
· Knowledge of the dynamics of internal communications.
· Proven ability to engage and educate audience with written and visual content.
· Ability to develop content with consistent brand voice and tone.
· Basic level knowledge and experience with email marketing platforms.
· Basic level knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs, including Illustrator CC, InDesign CC and Photoshop CC.
· Ability to measure the success of communication strategies and tactics.
· Ability to organize and manage time efficiently.
· Creativity and attention to detail.
· Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
· Flexibility and active listening skills.
· Ability to work in Apple OS X or PC environment and MS Office.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, or a related field, PLUS at least three year(s) of related professional experience.
· Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preference may be given to candidates who have one or more of the following:
· Experience in managing content development with various stakeholders including newsletters and other curated content pieces.
· Experience in writing for internal, professional and business audiences.
· Applied experience with email and text marketing platforms.
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud programs, including Illustrator CC, InDesign CC and Photoshop CC.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
· The schedule for this position may require flexibility, including some weekends and overtime, based on the needs of the agency. This position is eligible for occasional telework based on the needs of the agency and prior approval by the division director.
· This position may require travel. The selected applicant must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to perform all job-related travel. Possession and maintenance of a valid Oklahoma Driver License is also required.
· This position requires employees be able to lift 10-50 pounds on a regular basis, with assistance as needed.
