JOB SUMMARY:

Security guards will be responsible for the opening and closing of Client’s gated parking lots and ensuring access to all parking lots for Client’s employees and visitors. Guards will be responsible for maintaining observation of the vehicles in the lot until the lots are closed for the evening.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Operate and enforce system of personnel identification at entrance.

• Conduct patrols in accordance with established routes and schedules.

• Respond to all calls for assistance as quickly and safely as possible.

• Remain alert to all activities in and around the parking lot.

• In the event of a fire alarm, assist in the orderly evacuation (if necessary) and assist in crowd control and traffic control until the arrival of the Fire and Police Department. Direct Fire Department to fire scene.

• Observe parking lot visitors for compliance with posted rules and regulations.

• Receive and store found articles pending disposition.

• Maintain law and order within the areas of assignment.

• Discover and detain persons attempting to gain unauthorized access to the property.

• Report daily potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair. Notify responsible parties for correction as soon as possible and take action to prevent injury of individuals if applicable.

• Open and secure parking lot gates

• Prepare required reports and provide, as necessary, to primary or alternate personnel.

• Immediately report any civil disturbances to local city and/or county law enforcement personnel.

• Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to legally work in the United States

• Must have a H.S. Diploma or equivalent

• Must have an unarmed Guard Card

• Must have at least 1 year of security guard (or equivalent) experience

• Proficient in the English language, both orally and written

• Shows mature judgment, reliability, dependability, tactfulness, and self-control

• Ability to meet and deal effectively with the general public

• Ability to maintain poise and self-control under stress and to know when to call for assistance

• Ability to give instructions clearly and concisely, firmly but diplomatically

• Ability to conduct “Stop & Question” of persons found in parking lots to determine whether criminal activity has taken place or is taking place

• Must be capable of detaining person(s) until the arrival of local law enforcement agency and must notify Client of all such incidents

• Ability to construct and write clear, concise, accurate and detailed reports

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of restricted information and reports of personal nature

• Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations

• Ability to wear and use all protective equipment

• Ability to pass Client background check

• Must provide own 2 Cell Flashlight

• Must provide own whistle

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Physically able to perform all general patrol duties, functions, and activities

• Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties

• Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, climb

• Ability to work out of doors in extreme weather like rain, snow, and extreme heat or cold

• Must possess good vision, depth perception, distinguish basic colors

• Ability to listen and communicate effectively through clear speech and hearing

• Ability to pass drug screening
