The minimum duties for the Security Officer positions include performing all tasks identified in this section III, Service Tasks, including but not limited to:
Oversees all aspects of booking, processing, fingerprinting, and maintaining security for youth in the holding area.
a. Fingerprinting;
b. Background screening;
c. Photographing youth;
d. Conducting a personal search of each youth and inventory;
e. Securing storage of all youth property;
f. Maintaining all keys to the Site in a secure manner;
g. Maintaining order and control of all youth admitted to the Facility;
h. Maintaining visual observation of youth;
i. Updating logbooks to ensure an accurate and current record of activities at the site;
j. Ensuring youth who are determined to require medical and/or mental health attention shall be transported by a first responder (EMS/Fire Rescue) after immediately dialing 9-1-1; and
k. One (1) Security Officer shall accompany the youth to the hospital (in a separate vehicle) and remain with the youth until his/her parent arrives or until an Officer arrives. One Security Officer shall remain at the providing services.

Qualifications
a. Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age;
b. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent;
c. Possess a Class āDā Security License;
d. Have law enforcement, correctional or probation officer experience;
e. Possess a minimum of one year of verifiable experience working with delinquent youth; and
f. Successfully complete a DJJ background screening PRIOR to starting employment. (Cost is approximately $28.00 per person).
