THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Brake Press operators are responsible for performing a wide variety of operations at a high skill, to fabricate sheet metal and components. Operators are trained to set up and operate the Brake Press and perform other operations such as Spot Weld, Punch Press, Lasers, and Collaborative Robots. Operators openly accept work assignments from Manager and Department Leads and understand the positive impact/outcome to the business. The operator considers multiple paths, knowledge, and learnings to actively identify and provide solutions to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The operators of our Brake Presses, Spot Welders, Lasers etc. maintain a strong desire/willingness to enhance professional growth and assist in the development and training of coworkers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares work to be accomplished by using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), blueprint specifications, and Product Structure list, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials
• Set-up and operate sheet metal fabricating equipment in accordance with specifications
• Perform a variety of operations to layout, fabricate, machine, and assemble a diversified line of standardized products.
• Responsible for accurate reporting of labor time, production quantities, inventory movements and scrap in ERP system
• Responsible for meeting production and quality goals
• Considers multiple paths and applies knowledge and learnings to actively provide fact-based solutions that contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by using standard 5S
• Use a variety of measuring instruments incidental to trade practices

REQUIREMENTS

• Broad knowledge of sheet metal fabricating
• Possess strong attention to detail and good math and reasoning skillset
• Utilizes strong critical thinking skills to troubleshoot equipment and provide solutions with an executional mindset
• Ability to be forklift certified
