What does the job involve?

The Punch Press operator punches parts from material strips or blanks as per customer requirements. Material may be punched using air feed, hand feed or manually leading blanks. After the parts are punched, they are checked by the operator using inspection gauges.

What will my responsibilities include?

· Determine the job requirements from the work order. Use blueprints to verify customer specifications.

· Check material against the work order. Be certain that it is the correct material for the job.

· Punch parts, performing inspection of parts at intervals designated on inspection sheets.

· Clean around machine after finishing job and at end of shift.

· Continually look to improve overall running of the job.

· Attend company courses and assist on project teams when asked.

· All other tasks assigned and apparent.

· May be cross trained for other positions.

What qualifications should I have?

· Must be capable of reading and understanding requirements on work orders.

· Ability to use basic math, read basic blueprints and use inspection equipment.

· Previous experience in punch press operation preferred.
