Position Description

Are you looking for an Progra Analyst role that will provide you with the ability to join a team of analysts, engineers, and support personnel providing acquisition support to the U.S. Navy Shipbuilding programs? As a part of this dynamic team located in Washington, D.C., you will be expected to bring your inquisitiveness, drive, and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our sailors.

The DDG 51 Acquisition Analyst will provide support in researching, planning, budgeting, managing, conducting, executing acquisition activities for the Ship Systems Integration team. Candidates will provide flexible support to customer for the coordination of requirements for financial reviews, technical reviews, and test events of Aegis Combat Systems on New Construction ARLEIGH BURKE Class Destroyers.

 In this role, you will:

  • Support the Combat Systems PAPM, facilitating all briefing materials and official minutes for all Combat Systems (CS) reviews.
  • Facilitate Combat Systems splinter sessions during Quarterly Ship Program Reviews (SPRs) at Bath and Pascagoula shipyards as required.
  • Prepare briefs, whitepapers, and other documentation to support acquisition milestones, gate reviews, and other taskers to Navy leadership at SES level.
  • Coordinate all meeting facilities, equipment, production of meeting related deliverables, presentations, briefing packages, and meeting execution.
  • Perform specific, routine tasks within a narrowly defined scope of acquisition management responsibility within a set timeline.
  • Prepare correspondence, briefing materials, and other documentation in support of the Program Office.
  • Assist in establishing and utilizing appropriate management information and feedback systems to review, control, and report on assigned projects.
  • Interact primarily with higher level Acquisition Managers or the Manager of Acquisition Management in supporting Program Office, support organization, and functional system contractor employees in the assigned program(s).
  • Produce and distribute meeting related correspondence, prepare meeting minutes, meeting arrangements, and coordinating all activities conducted between program management personnel and customers at all organizational levels.
  • Compile reports and maintain archive of plans, schedules, reports, and briefs in 400D5 library.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to ensure adherence to ship planning schedule.
  • Assist with preparing and consolidating comments for instructions and enclosures that involve new construction ships milestones.
  • Track, update, and maintain acquisition documents with program information pertaining to milestones, technical reviews, and briefings for all combat systems projects.
  • Prepare and distribute official correspondence in accordance with Navy Style Guide and business rules. Proofread documents, presentations, papers, and articles and help ensure that they are properly completed.
  • Develop and manage briefs, spreadsheets, and other internal/external communication in support of the Combat Systems Branch.
  • Coordinate regularly scheduled technical working groups and program manager reviews and conferences.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a business or related field.
  • Two to four years of relevant experience.
  • A current or active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communications skills.
  • The ability to perform frequent internal and external customer interface including regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
  • The ability to trave up to 10% of the time.
