POSITION OVERVIEW/GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
SER-Jobs for Progress is seeking a dynamic individual to join its Adult Services Department as a Career Coach. This position will help increase job skills, secure consistent employment and guide families along the path of financial stability. SER provides career exploration, job readiness, education, training, and personal financial services to the community. At SER, clients receive one-on-one career coaching to help clients reach their long –term financial stability goals. SER exists to serve the communities in need including, but not limited to, Veterans, Reentry community, Youth (16-24 years), low to moderate household income, and those who are unemployed.
WORK DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Have a passion for helping others, remain client-focused and data-focused, and incorporate the culture of retention and customer service from day one of meeting with participants and other key stakeholders.
  • Career Coach will learn Strength-based Coaching and use the coaching techniques, tools, and principles to engage with clients to provide a holistic and bundled services approach to assist clients in attaining their goals.
  • Career Coach will determine a client’s eligibility and suitability for services by conducting: intake assessments, needs assessment, risk assessments, goal setting, long-term and short-term individual career goals via and individual employment plan, weekly and monthly progress monitoring, advocacy and resource referrals.
  • Assist with organizational outreach efforts and conduct assessments to determine eligibility and suitability criteria and conduct enrollment procedures.
  • Maintain a caseload of 75-85 active project participants.
  • Meet with participants regularly for 12-18 months to track job placement, job retention, occupational skills attainment and certifications, and increase in earning, and track the participant’s financial stability.
  • Must be knowledgeable of community resources to connect clients with needed community referrals and resources.
  • Follow-up with participants and community partners to document use and success of referrals and services.
  • Verification of all required project documentation and maintain participant electronic and paper files.
  • Provide all required documentation in a timely manner, which may include client follow-up, outcome evaluation, client monthly contact, programmatic elements, and personnel elements such as mileage reimbursements and timesheets.
  • Actively participate in regular staff meetings, staff training, supervisory sessions, and accept the responsibility for aiding the development of positive team relationships.
  • Adhere to agency policies, procedures and professional code of ethics.
  • Builds Community partner network to ensure clients are properly served to address personal, social, behavioral concerns, and all needs are addressed through SER services and or through partnering organizations.
  • Provides job search assistance to graduates of the training programs including referrals to job readiness training, mock interviews, resume assistance, referrals to internal and external job leads.
  • Evaluate needs for a secure bids for and request work supports on behalf of participants.
  • Follow-up with graduates to graduates for continued job search assistance in obtaining regular employment.
  • Conduct follow-up with graduates to provide coaching and guidance that will help the graduate keep and maintain employment by addressing needs, soft skills, and upskill opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required; including detailed individual assessments, demographic information, performance, behaviors, social development, and physical health.
