POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Production Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Accounting

REPORTS TO: Accounting Supervisor

BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Responsible for performing production allocations, detailed analysis of results at the well level and corresponding facilities. Also responsible for associated regulatory reporting for a specific geographic area. Possesses industry knowledge and ability to perform these functions with limited supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Produces monthly production allocations on a timely basis for revenue distribution.

· Coordinates with field personnel and with purchasers on receiving necessary data to complete allocations including review of run tickets vs. purchaser statements, and meter statements for accuracy.

· Focuses significant portion of efforts on analysis and verification that allocations are correct.

· Prepare and file required regulatory reporting for properties, including all state and federal reports on a timely basis.

· Work with operations personnel to keep production facilities updated and correct, including adding and removing equipment, meters, new well setups, well abandonments, etc.

· Work with operations personnel on production data input, data integrity, new well setups and deadlines for production accounting data to be complete for uploads.

· Work with revenue accounting to resolve issues and correct problems.

· Maintain organized files, subject to internal and external auditing.

· Leverage information technology in order to improve efficiencies in data management and data flow in all processes.

· Work with each asset team to ensure production data is accurate and timely.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred. High School diploma required. 

· Oil and gas experience preferred but not required.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

· P2/Merrick product experience a plus.

· Experience with oil and gas electronic filing procedures.

· Understanding of various federal and state regulatory reporting agencies and regulations

· Excellent oral and written communications skills.

· Ability to develop, promote, and maintain diplomatic and harmonious work relations with employees and outside contacts.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, process work rapidly, set priorities, work under pressure, and follow through with assigned tasks with limited supervision.

· Ability to adapt to a changing environment, i.e. new reporting requirements and/or asset base

· Strong interpersonal skills are required as well as excellent work ethics and a strong commitment to the team and organization’s success.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Visual and manual dexterity is extremely important for this position. The job presents no work hazards beyond those normally present in an office environment. Incumbent will be subject to performing sedentary to light work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, reach overhead for items, stoop, bend, and twist while working. Other physical activities include ability to utilize fingers to feel and grasp objects or work devices as needed and manual dexterity in the use of the hands, seeing, talking, hearing, performing repetitive motions and standing for long periods of time at the copier or fax machine.
