Maxwell Group, based in Charlotte manages luxury Retirement Communities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Connecticut and Indiana. We are currently accepting applications for a Controller.

This position will:

• Manage GL, Payroll, AP, Billing, Revenue Accounting/Analysis and AR
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of month-end close
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly financial statements
• Maintain internal control environment to ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies
• Manage external audits
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
• Assist in special projects in areas such as regulatory compliance, treasury, cash flow and strategic initiatives
• Set up new processes and policies to promote efficiencies
• Direct the daily activities and the career development of team members, including leading, hiring, coaching, and mentoring
• Collaborate with team members in operations and the communities

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
• 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
• Experience in managing people and teams
• CPA highly desired
• Experience in public accounting preferred
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
• Proficient with MS office (especially Excel) and accounting systems (Intacct preferred)
• Motivated self-starter able to successfully set and meet goals
